Where Water Safety and Confidence Begin!
Palekana's Mission:
The word Palekana (pah-leh-kah-nah) comes form the Hawaiian language and means safe, protected and secure. That meaning is at the heart of everything we do. From ISR Self-Rescue™ Lessons for babies and toddlers to Private Swim Instruction for children building strong swimming skills. We are proud to serve families in Beaverton, OR and beyond with small, intentional lessons designed to keep your child safe in and around water. Because the sooner they start, the safer they’ll be.

From early water exposure to skill-building lessons, our programs are designed to build confidence, safety, and strong foundations at every stage.

Infant
Ages 6 - 15 months
Our ISR Self-Rescue™ Swim lessons teach all students to roll to their back to float, rest & breathe. Infants and toddlers who are not walking yet will learn to maintain this position until help can reach them.
Daily 10 minute 1:1 sessions Monday-Friday. Students complete the course in an average of 4-6 weeks.

Toddler
Ages 15 months - 4+ years
Our ISR Self-Rescue™ Lessons teach survival swimming techniques to toddlers who have started walking; to swim a short distance, roll to their back and then roll over and swim again until they reach safety.
Daily 10 minute 1:1 sessions Monday-Friday. Students complete the course in an average of 4-6 weeks.

Private Lessons
Ages 4 years - Adult
We specialize in small class sizes offering Private Lessons (1:1) and Semi-Private Lessons (2:1). With no rigid levels or checklists, each student advances at their own pace with personalized instruction to meet their swimming goals.

Swim Team
Ages 6-14 years
Focusing on speed, endurance, teamwork, and camaraderie, this non-competitive program is designed to prepare your child for future competition-level teams (no swim meets).
Classes are 1 hour, twice a week, with a maximum of 12 students per class.

ISR Refresher/Maintenance Lessons
Infant, Toddler & Kids
Open to students who have completed an ISR Self-Rescue™ session. These lessons work on continuing and maintaining your child’s skills as they grow.
Duration depends on each individual students needs.

Parent & Me - Coming Soon!
Ages 4 months & up!
Gently introduce your child to the water in this group Parent & Me setting. Babies can start as early at 4 months old! This group class is designed to get your child familiar and comfortable in the water with a focus on water safety. It makes the transition to swim lessons easier and you gain important water safety knowledge!

Water Safety Workshop - Coming Soon!
Drowning is the #1 cause of accidental death in children ages 1-4. We believe the path to eliminating childhood drownings requires a multi-layer approach. At our in person Water Safety Workshops you will learn important water safety information to help keep your family water safe year round.
Workshops are 1 hour long & the whole family is welcome!
