Private Lessons: Ages 4+
Our Private Lessons focus on water safety, confidence, and stroke development; taught by experienced, caring instructors who truly love teaching! Each swimmer progresses at their own pace with individualized instruction, no rigid levels or checklists.
Private Lessons are available for swimmers *ages 4+ who can float on their back independently and swim with their face in the water for 3-5 seconds. Not quite there yet? Our ISR Self-Rescue™ Lessons are the perfect place to start!
*Exceptions may be made on a case by case basis depending on age and swim level. Please email us at matt.lowell@palekanaswim.com if you have questions about your child’s readiness!

Frequently Asked Questions

At Palekana Swim we focus on 1:1 & 2:1 private lesons because students progress faster and build stronger water safety skills when they receive personalized attention.
In group classes with 3-6 students, each child may only get a few minutes of direct instruction during a 30 minute lesson. That is not enough time to tailor the lesson to their individual pace, comfort level or learning style. Especially for more nervous or cautious swimmers.
While Private Lessons cost more per session than group lessons, many families find they spend less overall. Instead of spending a year or more in weekly group lessons without meeting their swimmer’s goals, our students often reach their goals faster, and with fewer total lessons, saving both time and money depending on their goals.
We’ve found that this focused approach leads to faster progress, greater confidence and safer swimmers.
